Our jewelry is made from sterling and fine silver. Here are the other materials we use:
Semi-precious Stones - Handcut in our studio with lapidary equipment.
Pebbles - Mostly from the Atlantic coast line, but slowly representing other parts of the world, and drilled by us.
Slate - A combo of a semi-precious and a pebble that we cut and carve.
Fordite - Also know as Detroit Agate, this is recycled auto paint from the floors of old factories.
Lab-grown Opals - We purchase this sci-fi material direct from several labs so we can cut it in to our beloved point shapes.
24k Gold Leaf - This is the bling on our gilded and pebble pieces. We use a traditional gilding technique — the same used on exterior signs, capitol domes, and ancient manuscripts.
Recycled Silver - All our scrap silver gets melted down and sand cast into our chunky cuffs.
Negative Spaces - These are the insides of acrylic cnc and laser cuts, donated by friends who make things.
Recycled Resin parts - These parts come from the reject pile of a Houston-based academic who developed a resin habit during the pandemic.

We love them! Please contact us if you have an idea for a piece that works with our aesthetic. We are also able to work with your stones, slabs, or pebbles.

Good News! We mistreat our jewelry so you can’t. Our materials and finishes have been worn, washed, and tossed around to test their durability.
General Care: Our work is mostly made with a combination of sterling, argentium, and fine silver. If your jewelry needs cleaning, use mild soap and cold water. Gently brush crevices with a very soft brush, if needed.
Brushed Silver: The brushed edges can be refreshed with an emery board to brighten the silver. Be careful not to scratch any black or gold areas or any stones.
Shiny Silver: We don’t “polish” our work. You can restore the shine by using fine steel wool, just be careful to avoid any black or gold areas and any stones.
Matte Black: Our oxidized finish is created by tumbling the jewelry for texture, then soaking it in a patina that turns the metal black. We seal it with archival paste wax, so please use cool water to wash your hands when wearing our rings.
24K Gold Leaf: We use a traditional gilding technique — the same used on exterior signs, capitol domes, and ancient manuscripts. This ultra-thin layer of 24k gold leaf may, with time, age to reveal bits of the black finish underneath.
Stones: Just like people, stones have different tolerances for stress. Be nice and treat them gently. Don’t soak them in toxic chemicals, drop them on concrete floors, or run over them with your car.

Ring Sizing
Due to the nature of our unique materials, traditional ring sizing is difficult and not available. We are able to remake rings to the size you need by using similar stones, if we have those stones available to us. We will send you pictures of those stones, with pricing, for approval. What is my ring size?
Fingers are tricky. It is best to go to a jewelry store where they have ring sizers, but you can size your finger yourself using the following directions or download this PDF Guide. Note, all fingers are different, make sure you size the finger which you plan to wear your ring on:
Take a string or strip of paper and wrap it around the base of the desired finger.
Mark the point where the end meets the string or paper.
Measure the string or paper on a ruler in millimeters to the point where you marked it.
I can convert the millimeters to a ring size for you.

Have a question about our bracelet sizing? We use primarily two measurements, the diameter and the opening.
Download this PDF Guide to help you with your order. -
If you have a repair or replacement request please send us a note (with pictures if possible) for us to assess. Then we will send you information on how to proceed and a quotation for the repair, if applicable.
