Mount Dora, Florida
“Selected” for judging. It is an honor to be nominated!
Why we were there: Mount Dora Art Festival
When we were there: February 2021
How was the show: In 2021 this well known show had 1/3 of the artists that it had in 2020. It was a great show, in a quaint lovely setting. I always enjoy this show and the community looks forward to it every year.
Where did we go: In 2020 one of the big visits was to the Modernism Museum, unfortunately it was closed temporarily in 2021 due to the pandemic. We saw a super exhibit called Space Oddities: The Sequel - The Ultimate David Bowie Memphis collection. I bet this museum has great shows all the time for lovers of design and furniture, I look forward to visiting again. After the show in 2021 we headed down to St. Pete to visit family. We spent some time visiting the Morean Arts Center looking at their current exhibits and their Chihuly Collection, which is housed across the street. The St. Pete Pier had some wonderful public art and is a great place for a walk near the water. Let’s not forget the Dali Museum. We did not visit this time, but since I was a teenager the Dali Museum has been a constant for me as a respite and a refuge from the mundane.
